Thomas Gleixner founded the individual enterprise Linutronix in the year 1996, with the distinct aim of utilizing Linux for industrial purposes, to develop it, and to increase the use of Linux in industrial projects.
In the year 2006, due to commercial success and growing acceptance of Linux in an industrial complex, among other factors, the legal structure of Linutronix was changed to a limited liability company (GmbH). Since then, Heinz Egger has been serving as managing director alongside Thomas Gleixner.
Business has been constantly growing, and the number of name-brand global companies that rely on Linutronix has perpetually increased.
In the past years, Linutronix has attracted not only industrial customers but also acquired the most important chip manufacturers as active clients – further testimony to the high quality standards of Linutronix and the tremendous trust we enjoy within the Linux community.
